“I went in for a free consultation and was examined (pulse, questions, etc.). Without asking if I wanted acupuncture, the practitioner started setting up and I felt pressured into going along. During the session, I didn’t feel comfortable or safe, and afterward I was told I “needed” acupuncture every day, despite the fact I had explained I was leaving the country in three days. When I declined, the practitioner immediately offered me herbal medicine. I agreed, but was charged £78 for two small boxes of pills that normally cost much less in the UK. I left feeling uncomfortable and taken advantage of. I understand that TCM can be very helpful when practiced with integrity, but in this case I felt pressured, upsold, and not listened to. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision and so the clinic is aware of how this approach comes across to clients.”

This lack of communication and unresponsiveness to my concerns has made my experience very negative.”
