“UNSAFE DRIVING, DOUBLE the price, UNPROFESSIONAL. The driver was dangerous. It was a bright summer evening, a Sunday, and he drove at high speeds in small country lanes and around sharp corners, swerving violently, waking me up multiple times. I and my daughter were napping in the car, it was early evening but we had jet lag and were tired. The driver swerved to miss oncoming traffic or to simply safely make a sharp turn he had misjudged. Although I was incredibly tired, I stayed awake after the first couple of violent jerkings awake as I was scared for my safety. When I finally asked the driver politely but firmly to drive more slowly he was quite rude (dismissive and did not respond) and only slowed down a little. I paid GBP483 to travel from Edinburgh airport to Parton/Castle Douglas which is approx 2.5 hour drive. I was picked up in an ordinary black mini van. It was the afternoon, there was no traffic to speak of. The driver was rude. He wasn't happy helping with luggage, he told us we couldn't eat any snacks, he had no water available for us, he moaned about our flight being late even though I had emailed the company AND they had all flight details, AND this is a normal part of doing business and traveling - flights run late so car services / mini cabs know to check flight schedules. He complained he could've taken other jobs instead of waiting 2.5 hours for our late flight. I pointed out I was paying 500pounds. Later he was rude about not knowing exactly where to go, but refused to pull over to go over directions with me, instead he insisted on driving really fast on the motorway while demanding that I use my google maps on his behalf. It was the most UNSAFE & UNPROFESSIONAL car ride I have taken. A friend staying with us booked with a Dumfries based taxi company, Woodgrove Taxis, and they drove her 3 hours north to Gleneagles for only GBP200. Her driver was 15mins early to pick her up from our rented holiday cottage, he was courteous, professional (didn't complain about finding the pick up location) and my friend told me later it was a comfortable, safe drive. Avoid Scot Mini Cabs and their unsafe, unprofessional drivers charging double the normal price. When we next return to visit Galloway, I look forward to booking a local Dumfries taxi from Woodgrove Taxis.”

“Oh dear.... I hate the fact I feel compelled to write this review. Would rate zero stars If I could. Please be warned future customers. Taxi journey had been pre booked for 3 weeks and pre paid at a much higher rate than usual (happy to have paid as it was a guaranteed ride home on an expected busy night) Our taxi driver first off couldn't find our address which didn't bother us much at all until he finally arrived and we were greeted with the attitude and totally unnecessary excuses regarding a simple pre-booked 15 minute journey. Taxi driver refused to take more than one person (my father who had originally booked - at my recommendation ironically, so embarrassing) in a 5 seater car. Eventually when I pointed out that he had five seats and the second drop off we requested (due to myself being ill instead of heading to our original destination), was no deviation off his original route, it was actually along the same road he had to drive along, he then agreed to take myself and my sister also but refused to allow my partner and my sister's fiance to sit in the two incredibly empty and available seats in the back. I have no words for this... They were left to walk home in the rain, On Christmas.... the only possible excuse this taxi driver had for denying the last two in to the car (that had two seats empty) was cruelty. We were continually reminded that his excuse was he had another job in Glasgow for £280 pounds that was important and he couldn't keep them waiting. When I asked why their money and those customers were more important than my family and our money that they had had in their pockets for 3 weeks he had not much to say but you are also my customers... You are both important which made no sense clearly after his behaviour. I see hardly any reviews on here so I assume this may be a new company starting, but again, please be warned, extortionate pricing, no forms of Identification of any kind in the taxi, confusion with addresses and communication and money grabbing over loyalty to paid customers. Merry Christmas indeed. Safe to say we will never use again and will ensure we spread the word of such a service who soured the last few hours of what had been a very special Christmas with our Australian family.”
