“Both my ears were blocked with wax which impacted my hearing. I had ear suction before, in Spain before Covid by an ear doctor (in the UK, ENT) who was excellent; two years ago in Edinburgh by a guy who was fine, and last year in Edinburgh by a guy who was definitely not fine. So I was looking for an alternative address. A friend told me she was very pleased with ear wax removal by the House of Hearing in Melville Crescent, Edinburgh, and consequently I booked an appointment for this afternoon. Nurse Anya used ear suction and she was really fantastic! She was very nice, she couldn't have been any more gentle, she explained the procedure and she showed me photos of my eardrums on her computer after she was finished. A tiny bit of wax in both ears stuck to the edges of the eardrums and she offered to wash it off, which she did. The whole treatment was perfect, at the level of the ear doctor in Spain! Communication with tbe reception, Ana, was equally perfect. Thanks Anya and Ana! And to finish this off, the chair in the room was very comfortable, and it was a nice room at that. Will be back! Three months after writing my first review, see above, both my ears were again solidly blocked. I got an appointment for a few days later, today, and this time nurse Beverley attended to my hearing problems. Beverley turned out to be a fountain of wisdom. She explained the procedure thoroughly and also provided me with valuable tips. She cleaned my ears by suction and washing and it was done very thoroughly indeed, I was most impressed! She also took her time and was not in a rush. She did her job until she was completely satisfied and showed me the results on the computer screen. The whole procedure is high-tech. From my comfortable chair I could follow her progress as Beverley took photos and displayed them on the screen, really very good! When I walked away, I heaved a big sigh of relief, I could hear again, no more muffled sounds. Well done, Beverley, and thanks a lot!”
