★★★★★“The Votive Stand that Jack designed and the team at Work of Iron produced for Dunfermline Abbey fits the brief that Jack was given. Jack has been great to work with, and really listened to the intention and hope of the piece that the Abbey Church of Dunfermline commissioned from him. The piece beautifully reuses redundant internal railing, and despite being metal work captures the growth and life. Jack was patient in his fulfilling the brief, but also unrecognising the various groups that needed to be consulted for the final piece to be commissioned. This is my thank you to him as the minister of the congregation, but having spoken to several people since the Votive Stand was dedicated they are also blown away by its beauty and the craftsmanship it represents.”
★★★★★“My children attended the Young Sparks course today. Jack took the kids through each step in the process of creating a leaf and then a pendant, and over saw everything they were working on. Ensuring they worked safely. Jack and Fiona really engaged with them, they were hands on with them at every step, listening to their ideas for their designs and helping them fulfil them. They were shown how to use the forge, how the different tools worked and how they could be used to create different effects on the metal. The time flew past and they both really enjoyed the course. Definitely planning to return. Highly recommend this course.”
★★★★★“An amazing experience and one of the best birthday presents ever. Staff were amazing by and friendly. Recommend for anyone that wants to try something different and hope to return soon to continue my learning.”
