“I’m an Ante regular, when I can get a seat (since it’s usually too busy), and will continue to be until they no longer do great pastries and amazing coffee. It’s the perfect place to sit and relax, hidden in a well decorated and styled basement. Great music, friendly staff, and service as attentive as you need in a casual cafe. Please never take the hazelnut miso latte off the menu. It’s too good.”

“I totally understand the vibe that this place is going for but in my opinion it fails on almost every account. The service was good and staff were friendly, and while the food was enjoyable (except the disgusting cardamon cream)was all a bit unusual I get that will appeal to some people more than others. Where the place really fails is the layout. Tables are spaced in a bizarre fashion that doesn't maximise the number of individuals that can sit in and the side benches are so small that they are practically useless and supremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately a lack of understanding around layouts and flow has become a trend across independent cafes especially in Edinburgh but them prioritising style over comfort - certainly not a word I could ever use to describe a cold, stone place with poor lighting and seating. A shame because it could be something really special.”

“The service was incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived. We had to sit outside because the inside was full, but the cold weather paired perfectly with a good flat white and a hot chocolate. We ordered the omelette absolutely delicious, served with sourdough bread. We also tried another pastry that was just as good. The service was very fast and attentive the whole time. Highly recommended☕️”
