What customers say

On Tour Camper Vans offers a highly satisfactory rental experience. The company is conveniently located near the airport, with straightforward access via public transport or taxi. The check-in and check-out procedures were efficiently handled. The vehicle, a Toyota, proved to be in good, reliable condition despite its age and came fully equipped with all necessary amenities, including a comfortable sleeping arrangement. Communication with the renter was consistently prompt and effective. We found this to be a high-value rental and a positive experience overall.

We opted for a compact van called DUMA. I understand that to achieve lower prices, some compromises are necessary — but never at the expense of safety. The biggest problem with our van was its loose steering wheel. Even as an experienced driver, I couldn’t drive faster than 80 km/h, and at lower speeds as well, handling the vehicle was difficult. The windshield wipers didn’t work properly and left a blurry smudge on the glass. One of the position lights was out, and the main headlights had mismatched bulbs. Instance of misleading advertising: the website promised an “electric independent plug-in trip box for campsites,” but our van had no socket to connect to campsite power. Rear visibility was very poor, and the tinted windows didn’t help. I understand that it’s not a new vehicle, but customers should be informed that the audio system is outdated and only supports radio or AUX input. If I had known, I could have brought an AUX-to-Bluetooth adapter. On the positive side, they did provide a phone holder. If you are on a budget and only need the van for a maximum of two days, it may be acceptable. However, once you add all the additional costs — bed sheets (£15), cleaning fee (£20), and maximum insurance (£20 per day) — it no longer represents good value.

If you’re on a small budget, I’m afraid there’s no cheaper rental company in Scotland. But if you value comfort even a little, look for some other options! The car was very old, shabby and I don’t think anyone had cleaned it. To unfold the mattress for sleeping, you have to move the seats every time. You also lose access to the storage boxes, which is very inconvenient. We paid extra for bedding, but the sheet we were given didn’t fit the mattress, so we had to buy a new one at the supermarket. You also shouldn’t rely on the kitchen equipment – everything was damaged and dirty, and the gas cooker was faulty, which made using it unsafe. I’m giving two stars instead of one because we managed to get through the whole trip without the car breaking down – but that was a miracle, given its condition.
