“We used to come here quite regularly as it was a fun place to come to. However, more recently the place has gone downhill somewhat. There seems to be a lack of care about the premises, the gents toilet facilities are in a disgraceful state. Both toilet cubicles are out of order and have been for months, the hand dryer no longer works, you're lucky if you can find anything to dry your hands as there's seldom any hand towels or blue roll. Most of the staff are still really nice and helpful but the management don't appear to be highly thought of as the staff are constantly complaining about how they are treated. There's a definite atmosphere about the place which isn't very welcoming. There were supposed to be plans a long time ago to refurbish the store but this has never happened. Perhaps, if the building does eventually get some well overdue love and attention then perhaps they will breathe new life into the place. However, in the meantime it's really best avoided.”

“Admiral Casino on Shandwick Place. where your money disappears, but your dignity stays intact thanks to free coffee and top-tier patter. Place is immaculate. Like, “did someone just mop the fruit machine?” levels of clean. No tables, no roulette, no nonsense, just glorious, noisy slots and the occasional scream of someone hitting £12.47 on a bonus round. Staff? Outstanding. Colin’s the boss and somehow sees everything. he’s like Big Brother but polite. JP’s so laid-back he probably floats home. Lisa’s got the chat of a stand-up comic and the sarcasm of someone who’s been doing this too long and still loves it. Katie? Cheeky wee legend. Always got a grin, always got a comment, probably roasting you while topping up the coffee. And aye, wee Marcin, the unofficial Mayor of the place. Loves a blether, knows everyone’s name, probably has your horoscope memorised. Machines are always bangin’, tournaments and promos are decent, and the vibe? Spot on. Go in for a spin, leave with a caffeine buzz and emotional damage softened by banter. Easily the best slot-only casino in Edinburgh. Five stars”
