What customers say

We booked three day trips with Aura Journeys while on a British Isles cruise. They were all fantastic! I had the pleasure of arranging all three tours with Gerry, who is so accommodating and remarkably funny! Our first tour was of Edinburgh, and we were lucky to get Barney as our guide. He is a great historian and the six of us were regaled with stories the entire day. Because some of us have mobility issues, we could not climb to Edinburgh Castle. Instead we took a lovely drive to Rosslyn Chapel that just took our breath away! It was a perfect day! Our next day tour was in Inverness, and our guide was Gary. He was such a nice man and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. We had a beautiful boat ride on Loch Ness, visited the ruins of the Urquhart Castle, stepped onto the Culloden battlefield, and even had time for a little shopping in Inverness. Gary always guided us to the best places, and took care of the guys who preferred a pint to shopping. Our last tour was a stop in Glasgow, and our tour guide was Gerry, who arranged these amazing days for us. He took us to Stirling Castle, which I’m told is every bit as beautiful as Edinburgh Castle. We were amazed by its beauty and history. Gerry was loads of fun, and we had a wonderful day! Each guide offered something different for us, but all were marvelous! Did I tell you they each offered water and Scottish treats in the car.? We loved them so much, we made Gerry stop at a grocery store before we reached our ship so that we could buy some for home. The six of us highly recommend Aura Journeys! You won’t be disappointed!

We booked Aura Journeys from Qatar and the service was excellent from start to finish. Nick handled everything with clear communication and tailored the itinerary perfectly. Our chauffeur, Gerry, was amazing — warm, fun, and professional. He made the tours feel personal and memorable, even timing things so we caught the Jacobite train at just the right moment. The Mercedes van was spotless and very comfortable. Highly recommend Aura Journeys for anyone visiting Scotland. We’ll be telling our friends and family in Qatar about them for sure!

I recently spent a long weekend with a friend in Edinburgh and we had the pleasure of taking a day tour of the Western Highlands in Scotland with the Aura Journeys team. I requested a quote for a private tour with a list of sites we were interested in seeing and was met with prompt customer support by multiple team members all the way through the booking and payment process. Karen was set as our primary tour guide along with David, who is training up to join the team. Both of them were an absolute delight to travel with! They were so kind, made us feel totally relaxed and un-rushed during our time together, and are incredibly knowledgeable about this beautiful country (They even had a handful of pointers for places to see/eat in Edinburgh and St Andrew’s during the rest of our time in Scotland). Our tour was booked for last Saturday, October 25th, which is off peak travel season for the area. The crowds were minimal and we were able to take our time soaking in the sites, both in transit and outside the van. We set out from Edinburgh about 9:00 am and in 12 hours we saw Stirling and Doune castles, Highland hairy coos (google it, you'll thank me later), the Three Sisters on our way to Glencoe, the coastline down to Inveraray and then Luss Loch Lomond before returning to Edinburgh. I cannot express in words how incredible our experience was from start to finish with this tour outfit. Thank you Aura Journeys!!! *Just a few pro tips for travel to Scotland in the off season: -The weather can be very unpredictable here, very windy, rainy and cold, so bundle up with good layers to keep comfortable. -The roads up into the Highlands have a variety of twists and turns in them. While I typically suffer from motion sickness, I had no problems feeling sick until it got a bit dark towards the end of the trip. The longest stretch of driving between each stop we made was about 1.5 hours but we were assured by Karen and David that we could pull over and make a stop if needed (just be mindful of this if you have the same sensitivities, ginger pills work wonders for me!). -We had several options for a light lunch on our way, soups and sandwiches primarily, which were perfect to keep us going. -12 hours was plenty of time to site see but do be mindful of your time as sunset tends to start about 4:30p in the winter months. -Skip booking through mass tour websites and go straight to the company web page to work directly with the company!
