“We were sad after the loss of one of our hens and only taking in a couple of new friends could sooth a painful heart. We followed the sat nav directions to the farm and found it easily. A very nice area to park at the house allowed easy access. As instructed on their website we rang the house bell and were greeted by Mr Farmer (sorry, I didnt catch his name !). He directed us to a barn accross from the house and went to get Jane, who deals with the chickens. Jane appeared from round a corner quickly and took us to a barn area where the young hens were kept. What a treat, being in among probably over 100 young hens was a delight and we chatted while being seriously distracted by the lovely hens. We could have spent the day ! Pleasantries over, we went about the business of picking 2 new girls, a tricky propostion since we wanted them all. We chose a lovely light sussex and a bluebell. After popping them into our carry case, Jane mentioned that they sell the essential things you needs like food, water and food feeders etc. Good to know. Also good to know is the hens are all wormed and vaccinated. Great to see their setup. The hens all looked healthy and in good spirits and living in a nice spacious barn. They also offer chicken bed and board facilities at a very reasonable price should you be going on holiday and dont have someone to take care of your flock. Fantastic! I would recommend Jane if you are a hen person in need of some friendly feathery friends! Update - been here a few times now since our first visit. Was back today for 2 hens, and as usual, Jane was excellent with plenty of lovely hens to choose from. We left very happy 😊. Seriously, this is the number 1 place to go for hens.”
