“Daughter has been a member of Salle Holyrood Fencing Club for a few years - staring when she was about 7 with plastic fencing classes. She has made some great friends and her association with the cub (and with the head coaches Keith and Sean in particular) has been a phenomenally positive experience for her in a whole range of ways. It has all ultimately lead to her having the opportunity to represent Great Britain at a number of junior international fencing competitions - and she is one of many in the club who have had that chance. All this was achieved while the club, for years, worked out of rented school gyms etc. The new dedicated venue the club has recently moved to near Leith is a huge step up for the club and it's members. With these new facilities of their very own I can imagine how far the club and it's members, at all levels - from young kids trying out plastic fencing to recreational fencers of all ages, young and old, to the international athletes - can go.”
