“The range of foods is absolutely amazing, but there's a slight issue with customer service at the tills. My experience at the Tollcross store a couple months ago was strange - nobody else in the store and everything was scanned in a rush, no help with packing, and they seemed bothered by me asking if they did student discount and asking for my receipt after they chucked it in the bin. Broughton is a bit better... a little less claustrophobic, but almost the exact same experience at the tills - again nobody behind me, and as soon as the transaction is done my receipt goes in the bin, and once they did that they walked away so I didn't know if I got a discount (according to their sign, it's 25% off bread after 6pm). I don't know if it's policy, or an assumption that customers don't want their receipt, but I prefer to go down the route of saying yes please or no thank you to a receipt instead of ensuring I intervene in the 0.5 seconds between payment and bin.”
