“I had a fantastic experience at Cubitts that exceeded all my expectations. After trying on glasses at Specsavers — where I received no advice — and at IOLLA, where all the frames felt too short, I popped into the new Edinburgh New Town branch. First, I was taken aback by the beautiful, aesthetic showroom — a perfect blend of old and new. Second, the staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely helpful in guiding me toward the right pair. They were patient as I tried various frame styles and shared useful tips to help me narrow down the choice, without being pushy in any way. The checkout process was smooth, and I was given a clear collection date a few days later. Collection was great too, and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of gifts included with my purchase: a beautiful tote bag, a cleaning cloth, and a stylish aluminium case. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get used to my new lenses after a week of wear and returned to the store to investigate. The staff were super attentive and immediately ran troubleshooting steps to confirm the PD values and ensure the lenses matched the prescription. Once those were ruled out, they offered me a complimentary eye test. This revealed that the prescription I’d brought from Specsavers was stronger than I needed, which explained the discomfort. At this point, it would have been reasonable for Cubitts to say they had simply followed the prescription and charge me for the retest and remake. Instead, they insisted on fixing the issue at no cost whatsoever — and in doing so earned a lifelong customer and a raving fan. This left a deep impression on me, and I’ve already shared my positive Cubitts experience with multiple friends and family as an example of truly excellent customer service.”
