What customers say
★★★★★“I had a disappointing experience ordering cassatas here. This was the shop that introduced me to them in the past and I was blown away how good the one I had a year or so ago was. The marzipan had the perfect thickness, and the dessert was really pretty having green colour and decorated with candied fruits which I learnt was the traditional way to make them. It had a generous ricotta filling with the right sweetness. For ages I have checked out the shop for them in case they resurface but I had no luck so I decided to order them. I was looking forward to them so much but the only way I can describe the ones I got was that they were made so lazily. Minimal effort was made in decorating them including not dying the marzipan, the marzipan had massive thick layer in some places while paper thin in others and it had a hardly noticeable cake layer at the bottom. The ricotta layer was really thin and in most places it was overwhelmed by chuncks of marzipan and the occasional accidental candied fruit inside. So careless and lazy. When I commented on the colour and the looks the lady in the shop said 'that's just the food colouring and they will taste even better'. When I said I would have preferred the green, classic look (which is also how it appears on the website) she said 'oh well'. 🤣 Just in case I had any doubt that they didn't really care. They are still okay but so far off of what was produced by this very shop in the past.”
★★★★★“I was very disappointed with my visit. The shop presents itself as Sicilian, but the pastries were not authentic. I bought a pistachio pastry and the filling was completely bland and lacked any real pistachio flavour. I’m from Italy, I know how genuine Sicilian pistachio should taste, and this was far from it. The selection was also very limited. If a place claims to be Sicilian, it should reflect true Sicilian quality and flavours — unfortunately, this did not.”
★★★★★“First time here and NEVER again. This shop was recommended by someone. The selection was limited but this may well be down to the time of visiting. The desserts looked nice and the ONLY item that was nice, was the Nutella cream croissant. The chocolate éclairs, jammy heart biscuit and large cookies were, at best, ordinary. Overpriced and simply not deserving of the price point. Shop needs an update as looks ancient. Service was okay. No item had a description, calorie information or price which, in my opinion, isn't acceptable 🤔. Please visit other standard places as they will be better and half the price. You don't always get what you pay for.”
