“After trying to resolve sightings of mice, their droppings, hearing their scratching behind walls and finding they were nesting in sofas and cupboards by using purchased bait and traps which remained untouched the final straw was finding droppings in my bed and on top of spare beds. I researched immediate help late on a Friday afternoon and was so relieved to hear from Stuart Bell who understood my anxiety, that a technician would be assigned to assess the situation on the Monday. Iain Pendreich arrived on Monday and made a detailed inspection of entry points via holes in the walls around pipes, gaps in floorboards took many photos and used filler and stapled steel mesh over gaps as well as leaving traps and bait stations. There followed four more weekly detailed visits and included invaluable help from Ewan and Clara to ensure that all possible entry points were blocked. They gave extra help in working out ways of blocking entry points through gaps in kitchen units . A scope camera was used to reach inaccessible places under the floorboards and behind walls and fluorescent dust was able to track footprints. Gel appeared to be very successful. Iain gave me detailed information about each process and explained the habits and nature of mice. I was able to text him between visits to let him know about continued sightings and send photos of other entry points which was so reassuring. It seemed to be that the mice were in property for warmth and nesting and were getting sustenance from elsewhere. All dried foodstuff is kept in sealed plastic containers, no fruit is left out and I am more careful about checking for crumbs under the toaster or behind the air fryer! Being free from the sight of mice running across floors and suddenly popping up from the sofa while I was sitting there and being able to sleep better at night without having to keep checking with a torch is a treat.
