What customers say

About 30 of us had supper to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was just superb with excellent and friendly service from the staff. Apart from the fantastic food The Crown is also worth a visit to see the extraordinary and eclectic collection of art that's integrated into the decor. It's fair to say that such a collection is unique for a village pub. There are paintings, sculptures, stained glass panels, fabrics and even quirky taxidermy all created by top local artists. It's so good they could almost change just for entry!

Absolute gem of a place!!! Quirky beautiful pub and all of the staff are so lovely, from a warm welcome in the bar to friendly and chatty waiting staff in the restaurant (they're also very skilled...spent the whole time watching them opening that door with their feet whilst loaded with plates....🤣) !! Truly made to feel at home and 'Reg' is a man that knows the food!!! Hes also right when he tells you not to miss the Cauliflower cheese.....banging!!! We had the sirloin beef and the nutroast.... both delicious!! Can't reccomend enough and we'll defo be back!!!

We had a stunning Sunday roast here and can't recommend it highly enough. The staff were incredibly accommodating, seating our huge party in their upstairs function room. The food itself was exceptional. The beef and pork belly were both beautifully tender. The red cabbage was a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy. And those roast potatoes? Crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside. It's worth getting a side of cauliflower cheese—it's utterly delicious. Even the vegetarians were raving, with one declaring that the nut roast was the best they'd ever had! The only tiny quibble was that the Yorkshire puddings were overdone. The rest was so good that this can be overlooked. Bonus: They also have a big garden. Highly, highly recommended pub for a fantastic Sunday meal.
