“This place is a can’t miss spot! I was a little skeptical of not being able to browse around, but soon did not mind it at all. The owner Dougie is super kind and fun to talk to, and he has a damn near perfect memory of all he has in the shop at the moment. If you ask for something, he’ll know if he’s got it or not. I told him I was mostly looking for singles and EP’s and he brought out a couple bins for me to flip through. He’s a great guy to have a good conversation with, and priced everything very fairly for me. (Just make sure to bring cash beforehand!) I can’t wait to stop by again next time in Edinburgh! Don’t pass this place by! Backbeat is quite possibly the most charming record store I’ve ever been to.”

“Great record store with a unique style. Don’t expect to browse and flick through boxes of records (there’s no room). Best to turn up with a list of what you need. The owner will then have a mooch and dig them out for you. He found a few Michael Jackson records for me. Cash only though!”
