“Throat Punch Coffee is one of those places you instantly feel comfortable in. The vibes are incredibly chill and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the kind of café where time slows down in the best possible way. The real stars of the place are Bear and Buck, the two resident dogs who literally welcome you before anyone else does. They are a huge part of the experience and an absolute bonus for dog lovers. That said, if you are not comfortable around dogs or don’t enjoy being in dog-friendly spaces, this might not be the café for you, as many locals also come with their dogs. The owners are super cool, relaxed and friendly, and the clientele reflects that same easygoing energy. If you’re staying near Haymarket Station, this café is a must-stop every morning, especially if you love sweet breakfasts. They don’t offer savory food, but the pastries pair perfectly with the drinks. The coffee and beverages are genuinely excellent. They use a Mexican coffee that works beautifully with milk, plant-based milks, and even as a straight filter coffee. Rich, smooth, and full of flavor. A cozy neighborhood spot with great coffee, good people, and two furry hosts that make all the difference.”

“Delighted to have stumbled upon this hidden gem of a café. Having walked down Dalry and observed all the empty cafés, the occupied tables in Throat Punch pulled me in. It's easy to see why this one was busy. Delicious coffee, a happy vibe from the staff, great merch from local businesses on display, clean surfaces, most importantly a warm and welcoming atmosphere with the relaxed dogs contributing to this!
