“I’m honestly so disappointed with what this place has turned into. It used to be one of my favourite wine bars — warm, welcoming, and run by people who really cared about what they were doing. There was an American guy behind the bar, and I believe the manager was Italian — probably from Piedmont, since I remember chatting with him about Barbera and Nebbiolo, my favourite wines! There was also a tall Scottish guy who really knew his wines. Together they created such a great atmosphere and always made me feel at home. I went back two nights ago with my girlfriend, and it felt like a completely different place. None of those people were there. Instead, it was packed with loud customers who seemed to be friends of the owner, and the whole vibe was chaotic. People were constantly walking back and forth to the toilet for reasons I’d rather not think about. The pasta from next door is still good, but that’s the only thing worth mentioning now. Everything else — the service, the atmosphere, the charm — is gone. It’s such a shame. This used to be a great spot, but I doubt it will survive with all the new bars opening nearby doing the same thing, only better.”
