“I used to attend this salon regularly. I thought I had built up trust with Pat, the hairdresser, over a few years. This year I bought a wig from the hairdresser - she told me the wig was real human hair. It was synthetic. I paid over £100 for this. Later in November I went to get cornrows taken out, hair washed and cornrows put back in while my local hairdresser was away on leave. First of all, Pat washed my hair with low quality two in one shampoo and conditioner. I don't expect this type of service, especially for what she said she was to charge for the appointment. The hair appointment took longer than usual as she was 'training' someone. Secondly, at the end of the appointment Pat tried to charge me £110 for a service that costs £50-60. I disputed the charge. She couldn't give a credible answer for the reason for the price increase. I would implore anyone thinking about going to this hairdresser to find someone else to do your hair, Afro Caribbean or otherwise. The owner is a chancer who doesn't care about her customers at all.”

“My friend from work went to the Estate salon WITH ME and we both heard the price of £17.00 THREE times. In the end, the haircut cost tuned to £70!!!! They referred to the mishearing of 2 !!!! people. Shocking !!!! Sounds like a scam. Be aware!!!!!”

“My six year old little girl had an enormous, terrible knot in her hair. The ordinary hairdressers said that the only solution was to cut it off (and, to even it out, her hair would have had to be cut short, which would have been traumatic for her). One hairdresser recommended trying an African hair salon, saying that was my only chance of not having to cut her hair short. So I did a bit of research and found Pat. She was like a fairy of the hair. In two hours of highly skilled - somewhat magic - work, she managed to remove the knot, and my little girl's hair didn't have to be drastically cut!! I am so grateful to her!! I also enjoyed a beautiful conversation with her while she took out the knot!!! :-)”
