As a newbie to exercise I was apprehensive about how I would adapt to the gym lifestyle- because that’s what it is, a lifestyle. On my own I have paid hundreds over the years in unused gym memberships, diet subscriptions, lifestyle apps and nothing stuck because I had little to no accountability. The wonderful team at C.A.T.H offer it in spades! The format of the small group training sessions allowed me to gain confidence but still receive tailored feedback. ★★★★★“I started off on the 6-week programme with CATH and stayed on for the next 18 months, until I moved from Edinburgh. Rather than weight loss, my main goal was to tone up and strengthen the muscles in my legs and around my knees, as I had previous knee injury. I had not been to a gym since my teenage years and had no previous experience with weight lifting, so I was understandably a little hesitant at the start. After attending the first session, I immediately felt at ease. The team were incredibly attentive and took the time to adapt each exercise to accommodate my knee problems and match my fitness level. Over time, I have been able to do exercises which I could not manage at the start, which clearly shows how much strength I have built. The exercises are fun and incredibly varied which means that you get a well-balanced full-body workout, where no muscle group is neglected. The team regularly checks in with each client to ensure that individual goals are met and everyone stays on track. They provide excellent resources on nutrition and the team are always ready to offer guidance or support in this aspect too. Although I have not had the opportunity to attend, regular social events are organised which makes it feel like more of a community than just a gym. If you are looking to make a positive lifestyle change but are not sure where to start, I can wholeheartedly recommend joining CATH!”

The sessions are excellent - each one really well structured and challenging, and with a friendly and welcoming vibe. The session leaders - Lisa, Pippa, and Manos - are brilliant at providing guidance, support, encouragement, and fun. I come away from each session feeling great and with a renewed spring in my step, knowing that I am improving my strength, balance, and flexibility.
