“I am extremely disappointed with the service received from Andrew at West Edinburgh Memorials. I spent a lot of time picking a suitable headstone for my mother’s grave. Within 6 months of the headstone being placed on my mum’s grave, a line appeared running up the full length of the stone, over the top and down the back. Andrew agreed to replace the stone although this did take a considerable amount of time to replace. After around 6 months of the second headstone being placed on my mother’s grave, three separate white lines appeared on the stone. I took photos and emailed them to Andrew. He responded saying ‘granite’s lines and variations are the result of natural mineral growth and geological forces, making each piece one of a kind’. I asked Andrew to send me a copy of my signed TOC as he referred me to this in his email and a copy of the warranty for the stone on 11/01/2026 although to date l’ve not received this. I waited almost two months to hear back sending a couple of reminders before I sent an email confirming that I was going to proceed with a S75 claim due to not receiving the requested information or resolving my concerns. I received a response back from Andrew on the same day. In his email he wrote ‘In my opinion the photos you have taken may be altered or adapted using a lens, filter or Zoom.’ He also stated ‘any further correspondence will be charged an admin fee to cover my time’. My thoughts on the above are that the original grave stone was flawed. I am concerned the second gravestone is the same. What motivation do I have to alter the photos I’ve taken. Why have I not received my signed TOB and warranty. What reputable company threatens to charge for correspondence!”
