“Stephen Woods carpet fitter v.good. Thorough and tidy. Many thanks. Just to be clear my initial review of 5 stars was for the carpet fitter. Update 17.11.25 We ordered and paid for our carpet and vinyl in full on 4 Oct. '25 and were given a 2 - 3 week waiting period. The carpet was eventually fitted 31 Oct. '25 however there was a delay in the supply and fitting of the vinyl flooring. Today after a 6 week wait the vinyl floor was fitted - I attach PHOTOS so you can see for yourself the appalling quality of the fitting. The fitter did not as arranged glue the vinyl down and perhaps luckily so as we are currently seeking a solution to this shoddy effort with Tapi, Straiton. The fitter also had no door threshold plates (which we had paid for) to finish the job. A real shocker and we are so disappointed not to mention fed up with the whole experience. To conclude 01.12.25 We did send more photos than are posted here to Tapi Straiton and their manager agreed it looked to be a poor job - completely misaligned. After a further 9 days a new vinyl fitter came and after a cursory inspection declared he was unable to improve on the fitting!!! Make of that what you will!? Some phone calls ensued - no movement whatsoever and so we felt no option but to accept what was on offer namely ; fill all the gaps with caulk. Door plates were eventually fitted but even that took another visit. Tapi provided a replacement roll of vinyl which I can fit myself or employ another fitter to do (at my own cost.) In conclusion it seems to us that Tapi (who took all the measurements) have no control over their subcontractors - it is the luck of the draw. No representatives of Tapi Straiton ever came to inspect the work. All communication was by phone and email. It seems we have reached a dead end.”
