“It’s interesting driving to Edinburgh these days, unless you have a new or electric car basically you can’t enter the city centre due to LEZ. So we thought we’d try the park & ride. It worked ok as a bus arrived when we did but you have to walk out to the road & edit by the cottages to go to town & a few mins walk & crossover on return. Bus was £2.20 but pretty full & the route is quite congested even with bus lanes. Parking is free & there are street lamps & CCTV. No loos. I wouldn’t want to park & ride here by myself…”

“Big car park. But pity the terminal is closed. The entrance and exit has 2 sides one is height restricted to 2.05 metres the other is unrestricted. The road in has an island which narrows the road but my Citroen Relay Van made it through with some room to spare . There are few longer vehicle parking spaces and lots of spaces for cars. There is a frequent bus service to the town centre Next to Straiton Retail Park. There are 2 EV charging stations so space for 4 vehicles to charge up. I didn’t stay overnight so can’t offer advice.”

“Really useful place to park if driving in from Dumfries and Galloway. I did some research first using the reviews here and looking at the bus routes and timetables. It took a little while, but we got our heads round it and took the 47 bus (Cammo into Edinburgh centre and Penicuik back out). The buses go every 20 minutes. There are a lot of stops and it does take a while to travel in and out of the city centre, but we enjoyed it as it's not something we've done before. Loads of free parking spaces available here. But if it's been very cold and it gets icy then be careful in the parking bays as they aren't gritted. IKEA is just over the road too if you don't have one near you and you fancy a quick pop for a look around before going home as we did.”
