Melville Golf Centre, Trackman Range

“Avoid avoid avoid. Disappointed to have to write this review as I had been a regular customer with Melville golf centre for years before this but after my last 2 visits I am disgusted at the behaviour of the management. I have been going to Melville golf centre at least twice a month for about 6 years now and never had a problem, fast forward to Monday the 17th. I booked a 2 hour slot to hit some balls with my friend expecting a fun night but much to my dismay the first bay we were assigned wasn’t working properly, informed the staff and was moved on to the adjacent bay. Hit a few shots in this bay and the Toptracer wasn’t picking the ball up and tracing our shots, this caused a great deal of annoyance as that’s the main reason we’d booked Melville’s. We decided to make do and just enjoy our night without it and mention to the staff that that bay wasn’t working properly either, was given a £3 off voucher each for our inconvenience and I thought that was that. Went to Melville’s to hit some balls last night and noticed they’d changed to a new trackman system between now and my last visit which isn’t my favourite system but again I was just happy to be out hitting golf balls. Unfortunately again the tracking aspect of mine and a few bays beside me weren’t working, I went to the desk to inform the staff again and was offered an adjacent bay that some kids were in. I decided to just stick it out in the bay I was in and ended up leaving a little early. The member of staff that I talked to was very apologetic and offered to book me in for another session at some point, I couldn’t give him a definite date as to when I’d be free to make another booking so I asked for my account to be credited with whatever it costs to have an hour at the range. Fast forward to this morning, I received a “not welcome back to the premises” email for some reason and when I’ve tried to phone the range to get some explanation there was no answer. Absolutely disgraceful that I am no apparently not welcome for politely complaining about not getting a service that I paid for. Throughout the entire complaint I was very calm and understanding that it wasn’t the staff on sites fault so I am completely baffled as to why I’m apparently banned ? Clearly you can’t politely complain about their equipment not working without risking the wrath of the manager and receiving a spineless email contrary to what the staff on site advised at the time. Real shame as I really enjoyed both the range and the course at Melville but after this I will not be back ever.”

“I've been multiple times. It's a great place to practice your golf swing and game, whilst also having their own 9 hole course too. The website is very easy to use and looks great. It's very good value for money. They have the TopTracer which helps you keep track of progress...or lack of in my case 😄 the staff are friendly and helpful. I have turned up late and they didn't shave off any time for me which was greatly appreciated! However it wasn't too busy, it would perhaps be my own pearl had it been busier, but I would expect anything less. I love coming here, I have never tried the drinks they have on offer. Maybe one day I will.”

“Great place to practice all aspects of golf. Driving bays , chip and putt with 6 hols. Good putting area. Very helpful staff. Great for kids of all ages. Update melville now have Top Tracer great for all aspects of your game . You can have practice and driving Distance different courses a d much more . Stewart on reception was very helpful and very knowledgeable great help . Also some snacks and coffee available. Great time today with jamsey on Top Tracer range 169 yards 12 years old yyeeehhaa”
