“Celebrating the 150 year birthday of Edinburgh Natural History Society, this was a perfect venue. Beautiful setting (where we had a fungi foray in Lord Ancrum's Wood in the morning), followed by a delicious afternoon tea. The tea and food were excellent, and the staff were most friendly and helpful. There was room too for all our fungi collections to be laid out, photographed and examined by all. Could not have found a better venue.”

“Had afternoon tea at Newbattle on sat the 26th October and it was the nicest afternoon I have had in a long time I am familiar with Newbattle because I had my beautiful wedding there and revisiting was lovely. The food was exceptional, huge selection! Along with tea, coffee and some bubbly. Gorgeous setting and lovely historic rooms. The staff were fantastic, Natalie was just the nicest girl and so attentive. Excellent value for money, I will be telling my friends and most definitely returning. Different class 💗”

“We're a funded research project based at King's College London and the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. We held our public history event 'Meet the people of Medieval Scotland' at Newbattle Abbey conference centre. Everything about the location was wonderful. It has a striking medieval past (on the site of the abbey, founded in 1140), has beautiful gardens, friendly staff. Our main talks were held in the just stunning Edwin Muir drawing room, and then we went on to run a workshop in the college's computer room. The booking was easy, the event managers anticipated our needs extremely well. The catering was great - everything ran smoothly. I could not recommend Newbattle highly enough!”
