“We had a great evening at Dal Patino in Musselburgh. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the small, cozy atmosphere—with its wooden decor—felt authentic. The menu was extensive, with Italian classics and a few unique options. Our focaccia starter—garlic and cherry tomatoes—was surprisingly large, almost pizza-sized, though crispier and thinner than expected. It was tasty but lighter than a traditional chewy focaccia. For mains, I had a creamy tagliatelle with sausage, spinach, and sundried tomatoes. The flavors were bold, though I suspect the pasta wasn’t house-made. Still, it was delicious and filling. The only drawback was slower service toward the end, and we weren’t offered dessert as our time slot ended. Even so, at £30 per person for two courses and drinks, it was a great value. I’d happily return—it’s one of the better Italians around, with a charming, family-run feel.”

“Authentic and delicious pizza, good variety of tasty toppings, sublime dough. We are very fussy when it comes to pizza and they were perfect. Good house wine too. Friendly welcoming and efficient service. Nice atmosphere for early on a Saturday evening. Would return and recommend.”
