“Masons food is legendary and delicious. The memory.of childhood lunchtime from Trinity school and still being the same people making the foods in 2026 is mind blowing. Chicken curry pie is legendary and forget the fake custard slices in Greggs etc, the custard slices here are world class!”

“I like this place for the reasons many seem to dislike it. The staff are blunt and disinterested (but genuine), the place shabby and old fashioned (but has a human charm you dont find in corporate shops), the cakes from another era when they don't always turn out perfect and it would be a waste to throw them out (reshreshing compared to the mass produced or artisan goods). I went today and had a really good steak pie and a millionaire shortbread that seemed like it was made of compressed dust with a token film toffee and chocolate substitute on top. Over all a fine result. I'm sugar free anyway so a blessing not to eat the whole cake.”
