“Seem fair when there are no issues, but sorry to report I had a disappointing experience following a gearbox replacement. After the gearbox was fitted, the gear linkage failed within a few miles. This happened repeatedly over the next six weeks until new linkage cables were eventually fitted (and what should have been a relatively straightforward 2 hour job dragged on for about a week). At no point during the original booking or work was any existing wear or risk to the linkage highlighted, despite these parts having to be disturbed for the gearbox work. Communication was not ideal. Very little was provided in writing, and when I tried to discuss whether the repeated failures and extra costs might be connected to the gearbox installation, the response was unprofessional – they raised voices, accused me of being untrustworthy(?!), and a generally argumentative attitude rather than attempt to resolve the issue constructively. In the end I paid over £350 for additional work that I believe may have been avoidable or should have been covered by the warranty. Based on this experience, I would be cautious about using this garage again.”
