What customers say

A real hidden gem! This charming little café is tucked away in the countryside and well worth the journey. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are absolutely delightful—nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel completely at home. The menu is small but thoughtfully put together, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I can’t recommend the minestrone soup highly enough: rich, hearty and full of flavour, it was the perfect comfort on a cool day. The tea was brewed to perfection—properly hot and served in a lovely pot, just as it should be. The farm shop is an absolute treat in itself. Shelves are filled with artisan foods, homemade jams and chutneys, beautiful candles and a carefully chosen selection of gifts. It’s the sort of place where you can easily while away half an hour, discovering something unique for yourself or a friend. Whether you’re after a relaxed breakfast, lunch, a perfect cup of tea, or a bit of leisurely shopping, this café and farm shop is well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy spot with real character.

Excellent menu range. Everything we had was absolutely superb. Seriously excellent 6 star food!! Helpful, friendly even humorous waiter staff. Good coffee and a great range of tasty cakes too. A lovely gift/farm food shop too (shame I can't show you photos - not allowed for some reason) 100% definitely worth a little drive to get to!!! (or saving this location as "want to visit") +++++++++ Back story: Mum (Zandra Main) is 83 and when she was 3 (in 1942) during WW2 her father (Alexander Waugh) was a fishmonger in Haddington. He used to supply fish here to the air base. He used to bring her along as a 3-year-old. The kitchen is in the same place but the cafe and shop used to be the mess hall (question mark

As we were seen to our table we were basically told if we didn't want lunch we weren't welcome - nothing simple on the menu for lunch eg. Toastie, panini etc so we left. Way to pretentious and unwelcoming considering there were empty tables
