“Excellent little family run hairdressers, very good value and very pleasant experience. Nice cosy atmosphere in a tasteful modern setting. I usually ask for Yvonne, who is the owner with decades of experience, a light touch, swift, listening keenly to what you want and advising cautiously if she thinks it wont turn out the way you imagine- perhaps your hair is too thin for the cut or too thick for the style- her advice is clever and entirely worth following. While sipping a free coffee, Yvonne will guide you through different colours, cuts, as she discusses your requirements. Her chat is epic and she is an extremely kind, likeable person. The youngster attending to the pre- wash is always lovely too. I have stretched Yvonne's imagination at times because i rarely get the same cut twice, i like change and a bit of experimenting. These days i take in some pics from Pinterest to show her the end look Im hoping to achieve and she'll talk me through it. This really is a super facility to have in Penicuik where so many businesses have closed down or moved. There's the added bonus of free parking though it's adviseable to arrive 5 mins early just to be sure you can get a space. I would travel from Edinburgh to Browns as well because the service is quality for value, guaranteed.”
