“We highly recommend DJC Building Services based on the exceptional quality of the work they did to our house and their professionalism throughout the project. Scope of work was to remove our mouldy conservatory, turn our dating kitchen, dining room and living room into one open plan space (includes the removal of load bearing walls), fit new kitchen, add staircase to attic and convert attic into liveable space which includes the addition of a dormer, closet and storage. Damien and his team were professional and hardworking throughout the entire project, this was also testified by our neighbours who commented on how impressed they were to see the builders working everyday and showing up on time. His team were respectful of the surrounding houses and generally kept quiet when working outside. Also we appreciated that Damien and his team ensured the house was as tidy as possible after most evenings, rubbish was nicely stacked outside prior to being uplifted, indoors swept where/when possible. We also appreciate Damien keeping us in the loop as works progressed and for providing us with options on finishing touches. Damien and his team were also flexible to accommodate last minute changes which we asked for. There were also instances where Damien wanted to ensure engineer/architect drawings were accurate, and he took the initiative to reach out to them to double check. It is clear from speaking with Damien that he is a very knowledgeable builder and a person we could trust to run with our project and deliver what we designed with the architect. Pricing was very competitive. In terms of timeframe, we needed the building works to be completed prior to our wedding, and this timeline was met which we’re thankful for. DJC Building Services are in our eyes a very reputable, trustworthy, hardworking and professional small team led by Damien who will deliver all aspects of a house project end to end.”

“We had a great experience working with Damien and his team from start to finish. He did an exceptional job with our project which involved challenging structural work inside our ground floor Victorian tenement flat, rewiring our new kitchen and installing steal beams and doing everything absolutely perfectly according to our architect's drawings and recommendations. Damien did all the work that was required prior to our new kitchen getting installed. A very reliable, friendly, and a very experienced builder. He always had the best advice for us and he works with equally experienced and reliable plumber and plasterer. “Damien did a large project for us from the end of 2023 to mid-2024. This was a complete gutting of downstairs, taking a wall down, steel up, new plumbing/electrics and two extensions, including a new kitchen, bathroom, office and living room, as well as a large decking, porch, and garden paving. We chose DJC Building services as during the initial consultation Damien came across as very experienced and impressed us with his foresight of issues that other builders had failed to notice. While there were delays outside Damien's control, ultimately we ended up with our dream home and couldn't be happier with the end result. There's a lot to say about such a large project so I'll summarise key points below: - Cares about our requirements. No ask was too big/small and Damien always went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and that everything was done to satisfaction. He never made us feel uncomfortable about asking for changes and it was easy to talk to him. He also contributed some great ideas and added some really nice touches that we would never have thought of. - Quality of work and attention to detail. Didn't take shortcuts even under pressure and takes pride in doing a proper job. We employed our architect and structural engineer to keep a technical eye on the project and both told us they were impressed. As well as performing his own work to a high standard he kept a close eye on his employees to ensure everything was done with the same level of care. The carpentry work he did is amazing. - Timekeeping. Would show up at 8 and leave just after 5 most days, but there were quite a few longer evenings during tighter deadlines. - Clear about budget and reasonably priced. There were never any tensions over money. Initial costing and payment schedule was extremely detailed (down to the last screw). We paid on completion of stages. We went over budget, but this was entirely voluntary, as we made additions to the designs. Damien was upfront about these costs and saved us money on a number of things with canny suggestions. I have a huge level of appreciation for how the financials were handled in an environment of trust and transparency. - Great to have around the house- probably an overlooked quality when considering builders but they are going to be practically living with you for months, it's important to get on. The kids loved him and he was always friendly and respectful of our space. We wouldn't hesitate to employ Damien again. Despite a longer project than anticipated, we got a house we absolutely love, within our agreed budget, and the relationship was conducted with professionalism and integrity throughout.”
