“My partner and I went to Cafe Calton for Valentines Day. We had the 3 course Valentines menu and it was wonderful! Between us we tried all 6 dish options, each as fantastic as the last. It was really affordable for three courses on such a big holiday!? The serving sizes were generous and we left feeling full. I liked how there aren’t many tables within the restaurant, making it more intimate and allowing the servers to have a deeper relationship with the customers, which is always appreciated! We were originally seated in the centre of the room, but we asked if we could move to an empty table by the window and our waiter kindly accommodated us. At night the view was amazing, but during the day I bet it’s even better. I’d recommend trying to book for sunset!”

“I have been celebrating my friends birthday there. Food was great - I ordered fish with risotto - absolute joy. They serve drinks, cocktails, warm drinks (chamomile tea). Everything was tasty and delightful. Atmosphere was calm and really nice. We have been served a small cake (we needed to bring our own candle). It was warm inside and an amusing scenery of night Edinburgh. Great spot for photos. I’d return for a date.”

“We had such a lovely evening with our group at Café Carlton. We ordered a variety of small plates to share, which gave us the chance to try several different dishes, each one flavorful and beautifully prepared. The highlight of the night was the view. Perched on top of Carlton Hill, the café offers a stunning vantage point over Edinburgh. We timed our visit just right to enjoy a gorgeous sunset, making the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend for great food, great company, and truly breathtaking views. 🌅”
