What customers say

I started lessons with Rhys after self-learning guitar from the beginning. I always wanted to build a more solid foundation and understand the instrument I’ve been playing. Looking back, I can genuinely say I’ve improved a lot. When I first started, I wasn’t even confident using a pick. Now I feel much more comfortable and controlled when I play. I’ve also learned a lot about improvisation and how to move around the fretboard more freely instead of feeling stuck in one position. It’s made playing feel more open and creative. Rhys is a really cool teacher. He’s super chill, patient, and easy to talk to — but he’ll always encourage you and push you to improve instead of staying comfortable, which is something I personally needed to work on. The advice he gives has genuinely changed how I practise and approach getting better, even beyond guitar. He also listens and takes student feedback seriously, which I really appreciate. That mindset of not getting too comfortable and always trying to grow has honestly reflected into other parts of my life too. I’d definitely recommend Rhys to anyone looking to improve in a supportive, structured environment with great energy and mindset!!

Rhys is an excellent teacher. I began lessons with him around a year ago, after learning guitar for many years through a mix of formal lessons and largely being self taught. He balances a structured approach to learning with the flexibility to adapt to my needs, tailoring lessons to what I’m working on and how I learn. During my time with Rhys, my understanding of music theory has improved dramatically. Where before I would have struggled to even name the notes on the up the fretboard, I’ve now written multiple complex solos and can improvise in any key. I’ve also seen a huge improvement in my technical ability. Not only can I play much more complex pieces, but through Rhys’s guidance I have been able to add much more feel and musical texture to what I play. As a result I feel my playing now has far greater emotional resonance and I feel much more connected to my instrument. On a personal level, Rhys is very friendly, personable and takes time to recognise my progress whilst also keeping me focussed on areas for improvement. I look forward to my lessons each week and I would highly recommend Rhys for anyone considering guitar lessons.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An outstanding guitar teacher. We couldn’t recommend Rhys more highly. Both my daughters have been taught by Rhys; my eldest for seven years and my youngest for four and he has been nothing short of brilliant. He’s warm, friendly and completely relatable to young people, which made lessons something my girls genuinely looked forward to. He always picked music they were interested in, keeping them motivated and engaged, while still developing their technique and musicality. Rhys is reliable and professional but never intimidating; he builds confidence gently and celebrates progress at every stage. Under his guidance, my eldest was confidently playing Advanced Higher level pieces by S4, and both girls have really grown as musicians. We’re so grateful for the skill, encouragement and patience he’s shown over the years. If you’re looking for a guitar teacher who is talented, supportive and able to connect with students of all ages, Rhys is outstanding.
