“In a world when you can be anything choose to be kind. I have to reach out and thank the incredibly kind and tentative lady who approached me and my toddler this afternoon. She was NOT the person serving us at the desk but an observant employee from the background that jumped in. My son was having a paddy whilst I was trying to check out some books for him. In my time of need a member of your team approached us, showed him a sticker and he instantly calmed right down. Her tone of voice soothed him as she talked about the different stickers and diverted his attention 👏🏻 I just want to commend that member of staff for her kindness, empathy and compassion. She could see that I was struggling and stepped right in to help. We need more people like this in the world. As someone who has worked with the general public since the age of 13, I know it takes a certain kind of person to deal with the public, day in and out. To be able to react to situations in a positive manner and flip them into positive outcomes. For some this may seem like nothing but small acts of kindness truly do matter! 👏🏻 Thank you ☺️ to whoever she was, I did thank her in person but I wanted to shout her praises. To the lady who served us however, you have allot to work on. A blonde lady with short hair and a particular loud mouth, who clearly doesn’t actively engage her brain before talking. Barking at a child in these kind of outbursts does not help, serving faster and focusing on your job will! Passing comment on a child’s behaviour to a complete stranger, derogatory comments implying my child is not intelligent. Completely out of order and unjustified! Quite frankly I have no idea who you think you are and why you think it’s your place to talk to a member of the public in such a derogative and condescending tone. Especially in regards to her child. For all you know this child could be on the spectrum! Children like adults all have bad days, they are imperfectly perfect. Just like adults.
