★★★★★“I took my 12 year old son and friends of mines to the royal burgess junior open yesterday and we had the best experience ever. My son said it was one of the best days of his life , the staff and guys in the shop were so welcoming and had great knowledge about the course and club . We were so impressed and will be back every year and to get more stuff from the shop . What a special place to experience”
★★★★★“Despite the ongoing irrigation work the course was largely unaffected. Fairways had been cut short and as a result there were some poor lies following the recent rain. Some of the bunkers need attention and some members require to be reminded to rake them as they leave. Halfway house was very expensive! Clubhouse was clean and bright. Bar staff welcoming and knowledgeable. Plenty parking in recently upgraded overflow carpark.”
★★★★★“Very understated arrival but such a grand building with so much history without being over the top. After all it is the oldest golf club in the world. A member immediately offered to take our photo, we had a good chat and they also gave us some good advice. Everywhere we went people said hello and were genuinely friendly....clubhouse, pro-shop, locker rooms, tee box prior to tee off, all the same which was really nice, giving us a welcoming feeling. While not a long or overly difficult course, it provided its own challenges with hazards startegically placed. Course condition could not be faulted, fairways lush and green, rough also evenly cut, and bunkers consistent. Greens were absolutely top class and ran true and fast but also workable. Credit to the groundskeepers for keeping the course in such pristine condition because that's the only word I can think of. Overall a very consistent golfing experience which is what one wants. The Coffee was really good and the cake also delicious. Bar staff again very friendly and helpful. Inside the clubhouse, they've kept a very traditional look and feel. Old school wooden lockers, big amolian glass windows for lots of light and even the tap fittings, most likely 100 years old and still in great working order and adding to the charm. It was a privilege.”
